When men cannot beget children
DFG supports Clinical Research Unit on male infertility with several million Euros
Münster (mfm/sm) - To found a family and have children is an intense desire of many couples. However, in many cases this desire remains just a dream - for example when the man is infertile. To help exactly these affected men is the aim of a new Clinical Research Unit of the University of Münster and the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine. Scientists from seven different clinics and institutions will work together in eight projects to investigate the causes of male infertility. The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) supports the work of the teams with an initial 3.5 million Euros for three years.

Prof. Erez Raz, Prof. Timo Strünker, Prof. Hans Schöler, speaker Prof. Jörg Gromoll, Johanna Raidt, Prof. Sabine Kliesch, Prof. Stefan Schlatt, Dr. Petra Pennekamp, Dr. Nina Neuhaus, Dr. Maria Schubert, Prof. Heymut Omran and Prof. Frank Tüttelmann (f.l.t.r.) are very pleased about the positive answer from the DFG for their Clinical Research Unit.
