Inaugural visit of the new Lord Mayor
Markus Lewe visits the employees of the Max Planck Institute
On his first day in office, Markus Lewe - the new Lord Mayor of the city of Münster - visited the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine. The Managing Director Professor Dr. Hans Schöler, together with many employees of the Institute, gave him a warm welcome. “We are delighted that our new Lord Mayor visits the Max Planck Institute on his first official day. Earlier conversations with him make me truly looking forward to productively cooperating with him”, said Schöler. Lewe emphasised the importance of science for him and for the city: “I want to concentrate good ideas for the benefit of our city. The Max Planck Institute, which I consider as a lighthouse of Münster-based science, gives me good suggestions that we can use to make our city even more liveable than it already is.” Lewe officially took over the function of Dr. Berthold Tillmann, who has worked for the city of Münster for 10 years.
