On the occasion of the Stem Cell Awareness Day on October 09th, 2019, the European stem cell network EuroStemCell has launched the public engagement action #openupstemcells. Any questions on stem cell research can be submitted via a website and will be answered by scientists in short videos produced for this purpose. Also Max Planck researcher Erik Tolen has created a video.

In this video Erik Tolen explains what stem cells are and which unique properties distinguish them from other cells.
