CARE is coming

Stem cell researcher Schöler appraises finalization in new North Rhine-Westfalia coalition agreement on the establishment of „Center for Advanced Regenerative Engineering“

June 26, 2012

Prof. Dr. Hans Schöler, Director at the Max Planck Institute (MPI) for Molecular Biomedicine in Münster, appraises the distinct agreement of the new North Rhine-Westphalian coalition of SPD and Grünen on the Research Center CARE in Münster: "We are glad about the clear agreement that this important institute can now be built." This gives North Rhine-Westphalia the chance to sustainably strengthen its position in the world class of stem cell research for medical application, says Schöler. CARE – the abbreviation for „Center for Advanced Regenerative Engineering“ – is a so called translational research center. Its researchers shall further develop new insights from basic science together with private enterprises to make patients profit from new therapeutic and diagnostic methods. CARE was initiated from the MPI in Münster and the Max Planck Innovation, the technological transfer organisation of the Max Planck Society.
